Terms of Service
Last updated: July 18, 2026
These Terms govern your use of the ReTheme desktop app, the retheme.app website, the theme store and related services (together, the “Service”) provided by ReTheme (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, purchasing, or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
ReTheme is an independent third-party tool for previewing, installing and managing UI themes for AI coding desktop apps such as Codex. Themes apply non-invasively: they never modify the target app's own files, never block its official updates, and can be reverted to the official UI at any time with one click.
We continuously improve the product; specific features may change between releases.
2. Accounts
Browsing, installing and using community themes requires no account. Saving themes, using cloud sync or multi-device sign-in, and purchasing Pro require an account with a valid email address or a supported third-party sign-in.
You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials; activity under your account is treated as yours. Contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.
3. License and devices
Pro cloud services grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to use them. Reselling or sharing accounts is not permitted. Community themes remain subject to the licenses stated by their authors.
The free plan includes complete local use. Pro allows the same account to sign in on multiple personal devices and keeps themes and settings aligned through cloud sync.
4. Payments, renewals and pricing
Pro is available as an Annual or Lifetime plan; there is no monthly plan. Annual Pro is valid for one year from payment; renewing while active extends from your original expiry date. Lifetime Pro is a one-time purchase.
When Annual Pro expires, only cloud sync and multi-device sign-in pause. The local ReTheme app, installed themes, local apply, backup and restore remain free.
Prices may change; changes never affect entitlements you already hold. Orders are settled through currently supported payment providers or account balance.
5. Themes and intellectual property
Community themes are created by us or by third-party authors, who retain their copyrights. Themes are currently shared free, but free does not mean copyright-free; you receive the rights allowed by the applicable license, not ownership.
Unless a theme's license explicitly permits it, you may not extract, redistribute or resell theme packages or their assets, nor remove signatures, attribution or integrity checks.
The ReTheme app, website and brand assets are our intellectual property.
6. Acceptable use
You must not: circumvent or tamper with signature or cloud-service checks; reverse-engineer the Service except where the law permits; abuse cloud services; or use the Service for unlawful activity.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
7. Third-party apps and trademarks
Codex and Claude are trademarks of OpenAI and Anthropic respectively. ReTheme is an independent third-party tool and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by either company.
The availability, updates and terms of target applications are controlled by their vendors. If a major update temporarily breaks theming, we will work to restore compatibility, but this is not guaranteed.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, data loss or lost profits, and our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, or limits your statutory consumer rights.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service for material breaches; fees are non-refundable in case of termination for breach, except where required by law.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the website or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Disputes shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation, failing which they shall be submitted to the competent court at our place of operation.
